If you like great worship, fun people and awesome things then you would undoubtably love Kristian Stanfill and his Atlanta, Georgia based band. We had the amazing opportunity to have them out here for Skull Church last night, and if you missed it, you are not going to want to miss out on the video footage taken. To make an amazing story short and less exciting, I am just going to sum things up for you. They came out and played an amazing set. They had so much fun and I’m sure that everyone who got to watch or hang out with them would absolutely reciprocate those feelings. After service, they played an extended worship set (which was amazing) and even did an email contest. The contest prize was one of the best I’ve seen in a while. It included an autographed cd by the band and a personalized song that was sung to them at the end of the night. (Congrats to Kathryn who won!)
After service, hanging out with people, and building a snowman out of pens and peanut m&m’s, I had the opportunity to interview Kristian and Tim up in the radio station. If I could summarize the experience into just a sentence or two, I’d say that there was about twenty minutes of great interview and about thirty of uproarious, knee-slapping laughter. They were so much fun that it was outrageous. We talked about things like leading people into worship, Passion Conferences, and at one point Kristian broke out into U2’s song “One” then further started quoting Buddy the Elf in from the movie “Elf”. Funny stuff was happening. If you want to check out the interview I’ll post a link at the bottom of this page.
On a more serious note, I’d say that the overall feeling I got from both of them throughout the duration of the interview was that they were so in love with the Lord. Everything they talked about was not of them, it was not for them, it was not for their glory, but that it was solely for the glory of the Lord. It was so much fun to see two friends who were having such a blast living to worship God. It was so inspirational, so exciting and such a blessing. It was so awesome to see their heart in and for worship. You could tell that they really poured everything in them into their worship and that overflowed in their life. They were full of energy and excitement and in general just a lot of fun.
Like I said before, if you didn’t get to catch the interview or the service you should check out freshliferadio.com and skullchurch.com.
Check out Kristian Stanfill and the band at their myspace, or check out their newest record, “Attention”, with sixstepsrecords. You’re sure to love it.
