Let’s take a trip back through time real quick. We’re going to take it all the way back to a Monday. It was September 19th and I can’t think of a better way to kick off the week than with all the new music that was sure to be headed my way. On September 19th Gungor released their second album Ghosts Upon the Earth.
I don’t own their first release, Beautiful Things, but I know many of the songs off of that album and do love them very much. Going into this album I wasn’t expecting such instrumental creativity and I was absolutely blown away by the lyrics of some of the songs. If you’re looking for the kind of lyrics that move you to the depths of your soul, then go no further than this album. I have been so encouraged while listening to Brother Moon and Crags and Clay. “All praises to the one who made it all and finds it beautiful. All praises. Fearfully and wonderfully and beautifully made.” Let’s jump forward a bit. Now it’s September 20th. Needtobreathe released The Reckoning
Fact: I wasn’t always a fan of Needtobreathe. Fact: I have never really been a fan of country music. Fact: After I sat down and listened to The Outsiders all by myself I finally “got” Needtobreathe. I finally understood why it was okay to enjoy this type of music. So, with that said, as soon as The Reckoning released it was being downloaded to my iTunes. This is a great album and that’s a fact.

Vise Verses = one word. Amasome. well maybe two. Amazing and Awesome put together. “The War Inside” is definitely one of my favorite tracks. It has an edge to it, but still holding the signature Switchfoot sound. Its in your face. Rocking. and oh yeah, Amasome. To hear “The War Inside” and other great songs off the album Vise Verses is now streaming live on Freshlife Radio.
