Look who decided to stop by Skull Church this last week. That’s right, it is in fact Charlie Hall. Oh, were you wondering if his set was amazing? Why yes, yes indeed. They really did a fantastic job. There is something so awesome about having a band with so much energy and passion leading a group of people in worshiping the Lord. We are blessed to have an amazing house band here at Skull Church who weekly seems to blow me away with their ability to lead the church in worshiping the Lord who created them. Every once in a while there is a nice little treat thrown out there to those who show up. That little treat was Charlie Hall and his band. My, oh my, how nice was it to have them out here? Well, since you asked… it was really, really nice. They played an amazing set before the teaching, and a great concert after.
I had a chance, before service to speak with Charlie about different things like the beginnings, the new album and what it’s like leading worship all around the world. Check it out. I think you might enjoy it!
Here’s the interview:

As many of you know, Skull Church will occasionally bring up some bands to play for the night. It’s pretty much a secret and nobody really has any idea who is going to show up or when they’ll be there. The bands that come up have amazing talent and passion. It’s so awesome to see so many bands that love music so much and pursue music wholeheartedly.
A couple weeks back we had the band Milktooth come out. If you are one who appreciates creativity in music and music done well then Milktooth is a live performance that you don’t want to miss out on. Their music has been described as “mesmerizing” by NPR’s All Things Considered as well as “romantic and inquisitive” by Performer Magazine. They’ve had songs featured on several different shows and have easily stolen my heart with their smooth and haunting sounds. They are dynamic and altogether wonderful. I had an opportunity to sit in not only during the concert itself, but also during their sound check. At one point I turned to a friend and said, “This music grabs my heart and engages it. It stretches it and makes me want to cry. I don’t know how anyone could sit in this audience tonight and not want to burst out in tears from such beauty and passion.” Their music is that good. Their passion is that strong. Their creativity was through the roof and more. They did an amazing job.
You’ll hear me say it early on in the interview, but I’ll tell you now as well. We’ve had bands come out that were fun, that were creative, that were unique, but Milktooth has definitely been my favorite band Skull Church has seen. I guess I just appreciated the creativity and uncommon depth of their performance. Such heart, such talent.

To whom it may concern,
Wavorly was recently at Skull Church (as in last night) and they did an amazing job. I spent all day listening to their music and was so pleased with their style. FYI (for your information) I really enjoy listening to their stuff.
I’m not here to talk about how much I enjoy Wavorly’s music. Instead I am here to share an interview that Josh did with them before service. It’s pretty cool, so check it out.
Listen to the interview here.

We had the pleasure of talking to Seabird last week when they were out here for Skull Church, which, by the way, they did an amazing job at. Devan did the interview and they talked about all sorts of things like Montana, music (obviously), tours, Haiti, as well as other fantastic things. I think you might find it quite enjoyable. I know I did.
Check out the interview if you are into wonderful things.
Swing by their myspace if you’re into things that are awesome.
